Footnotes/references support

Love the clean interface in Bear. Could you add support for footnotes or references, so that a link in the text will take you to the reference at the bottom of the page?

Also, the PDF output font size/text width does not change when these settings are altered in Bear. Instead, the PDF output seems to be static.

Thanks! Nick

    Hi Nick,

yes, is our intention to add markdown footnotes support, by is not top priority at the moment.

We don't think is correct to export the theme settings to the export format, but is our intention to offer more customization for exports in the future.

    Cheers.

The lack of footnoting functionality in Bear is the reason that Iā€™m staying with Ulysses. Please let me know when it becomes available in Bear.

I do agree I would love to see support for footnotes too. Or just -in page linking- would be great.

+1 for footnote support. Did not know Ulysses provided it, but will check it out.

+1 for footnotes. Not having them made me realise how much I actually use them.

Also some random implementation notes: Ulysses supports footnotes, but really not a fan of how it hides them behind a tag. It would be great to have footnotes automatically link to the end of the document under a divider.

    Any news on this?
Best solution imo would be able to display footnotes and other notes alongside the main text body, via (better) side pane or (not so good) floating window, similar to how Scrivener does it.

Yes, I can tell footnotes will be part of a major update of Bear's editor. But I can't tell when will be available at the moment.
