Came here to suggest mathjax support and just saw that's already on your planning. Super cool!

Will really help in taking notes for math (related) courses and writing reports. Looking forward to it :)

I'm using a couple of different apps for note taking. I'm a paid subscriber of Bear. If you guys can implement Latex support, I can ditch all those apps and go Bear exclusive! Please?!

Is there any information on when Mathjax will be available in Bear?

@Sebastian Mathjax support is after Tables and cryptography in our idea, so I hardly will be available soon.

Hi! Bear is great, but please add LaTeX support soon (or allow us to write plugins that can add the functionality)! Seems like this feature has been requested for a while, so would be great if you prioritize it higher. Pandoc's markdown supports it.

Any way of including math that is just slightly more convenient than pasting images of math rendered elsewhere would be much appreciated!

I've been using evernote with Latexit, which allowed me to embed PNG files of rendered latex into the note, and even within line.
Using this workflow I type the latex straight into the note, highlight it and use the Latexit service to typeset and return an image, which is fitted to the font size of the note, and is relatively streamlined.

Will that something that can be supported in Bear?

@kadmonj So far the idea is not drastically different, we want to adopt a syntax like Ulysses ( $$formulae$$ ), render it with mathjax and replace it inline in the note (and exports). Indeed this should work also when you select some text and hit the "math button".

    Hi there,
I want to switch from evernote due to its lack of Markdown support. Bear is a great alternative but it just lack the latex support here. I am just wondering is there now a timeline for it? When can i expect it to be out?

Gotta set your priority right, coz if there's an open source bear clone out there that fulfil this unaddressed demand this app is done

LaTeX support would be really helpful otherwise I need to look for another application, as I planned to use Bear as notebook for my thesis.
