I am reviewing bear as a possible replace to evernote. The app & functionality looks good but unfortunately the web clipper is not working as it should.

Testing over at least over 10 clippings over different websites, bear web clipping will either 'selectively clip some of the images' or totally not clip any images at all.

Also, sometimes, the web clipper will only clip part of the article itself. Try this. It will only selectively clip part of the article and the images. http://www.carryology.com/bags/road-tests-outlier-ultrahigh-backpack/

Sure I can manually edit the clipper, but why use apps like bear or evernote if I want to waste time doing so.

Have to say I'm somewhat disappointed.

    Hi Moshi,

The clipper uses a mobilizer to grab the page content. A mobilizer is an algorithm which try to understand where is the "real" content of the web page and exclude the rest. Mobilizer works well for articles, but not very much for random web pages.

To avoid the mobilizer you can use Bear's browser extension in another way, select the portion of the page you are interested in ( or everything with ⌘A ) and click on the extension button.

Here you can find a video and more info:

    Cheers.
