I would love to see a feature of the pro version in the future to allow for sharing of notes. In my world, i was thinking of either (a) Static Link, meaning it would copy the note to the bear server, then allow the recipient of the link to load it as a new note in their bear with the same contents.

or (b) have a "shared note" where both users (or all users that are part of the sharing group) can read (or write if they have permission) and it's kept in sync across the devices.

and/or (c) a shared tag, similar to the above option, but on a tag level, so simply tagging something allows the note to inherit the permission of the tag.

This would be great for my office team to be able to share various code snippets and ideas from meetings.

    Hi Ben,

Yes, we want to implement shared notes and our idea is almost identical to yours.

The sharing tag idea is interesting, definitely worth a shot.

    Cheers.

100% agree on both fronts. The shared tag concept would be similar to Evernote's shared Notebooks functionality.

A very common use-case: I would like to share development/education notes between my work and home computers. Since I use Bear for everything (journaling, personal finance, etc), I absolutely do not want my full personal account to live on a work machine, but would like to push work-related notes to my personal account without having to manually export or duplicate.

I'm loving Bear, but will have to hold onto Evernote before totally committing. I need to be able to share tags (in a notebookish, folderish way). For instance, recipes. I have a large, shared recipe notebook in Evernote that is shared with a lot of folks.

I need shared notebooks too! Evernote shared notebooks were great for organizing information for teams and were often my deliverable for entire projects. Its a great way to curate a list of tags and make a mini database for a specific topic/project/use case. Lets get this and then I could use it as a proper business tool. Tempted to go back to Evernote if it doesn't happen...

Agreed on the need for sharing. I have many notebooks shared with my wife. I'll have to hang on to Evernote until Bear can add a few more features.

Hey guys, any update on when bear will introduce note sharing? I downloaded the app, figured out how to use it and all the keyboard shortcuts in minutes, I love that you can have a tag tree, what an awesome feature. It's absolutely ideal for my use except, I HAVE to be able to share the notes with my team or it is useless. Please let me know if you have a beta version we can test for you

I'm afraid this and other medium size features felt behind a lot of other feature requests. At the moment is hard to make previsions of when will be available but I think a sharing feature make more sense when the web app will be available.

    Hey.
I understand that the priority might be the web app for now, but I consider shared notes as the only "big feature" missing from Bear whom got real mature lately with nested tags and auto-complete. Ben's suggestion with shared tags would be absolutely amazing. Share something and still be able to organize it with other tags would be absolute killer.

There's stil a big hole in the app market form collaboration (Apple Notes makes you share each note which is really cumbersome when you have lots of reference material with someone). Evernote would work, but who want's to jump back on that wagon? Dropbox Paper and Google docs is just web and makes it hard to organize and consolidate with other notes and work.

Sorry for long a long reply. I promised my self I would't start asking for features as some one who just wants more, but yet I'm here. Thank's for a nice app which I love to work in, use everyday and would like to move even more of my work in to.
