Can you have your own storage to sync? I do not want to enable my icloud.

    Hi Hao,

we will eventually add new forms of synching but right now is not one of our priorities.

Can we upvote a non iCloud storage feature, or at least "select where to store sync files" for those of us who can't use iCloud? Symlinking is not even an option for those of us who are blocked from enabling Pro versions on machines that don't have access to iCloud.

I would love to update to pro to support Bear but I don't want to use iCloud.

Ah! Plain English at last :-)
I’m enjoying the writing style of Bear .... but there’s a massive bit of technical jargon that wasted my time and confused me in your Bear note #2 Organizs and Publish section work anywhere:

“Bear uses Apple’s CloudKit for sync, available via an in-app subscription to [Bear
Pro](bear://x-callback-url/open-bear-pro). All your notes will stay in sync across Bear for iPad, iPhone, and Mac.”

You do mean iCloud, don’t you? Or it more complicated than that?

    Keep it simple!
Save the technical jargon for later on, save your first time users!

    Hi Adam,

The answer is: is more complicated than that (but not too much).
CloudKit is an "online-database" service build on top of iCloud. The main differences are iCloud is only private and file-based and CloudKit is both private and public and works like DBMS.

People might be asking “What’s Cloudkit? Did I not do something? Did I miss something?”

So in plain english, so don’t confuse your non-techie customers:

Bear uses with your iCloud, so all your notes in Bear are synced across your iPad, iPhone, and Mac. This syncing uses CloudKit, a powerful backend API by Apple, which automatically does the background work. Bear likes simplicity … & honey.
    Keep up your good work!

@Adam: "backend API" isn't plain English. I have no idea what it means.

I totally agree Tod, but it ain’t as good this one from Apple : 'functions as a backend service.’ = fart, LOL

right, that’s enough, I’m going back to my Bear cave.
