Any plans to add support for import from Day One Journal? (It's too hard to walk away from 4 years of notes)

    Hi,

I have yet to study the Day One format in order to create a Bear importer. But is on my list.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I don't have received anything, but maybe it's a problem with this form, can you please link the examples on DropBox or similar ?

    Thanks.

No problem. Let me know if you have any trouble with this. Should be a
.TXT and .JSON waiting for you here

I’d be happy to help as well, @Danilo, if you need more examples.

If you allow import from html that could work as well as day one 2 offers html export!

    Hi Dave,

I'm still working on it, but will be available with the next update anyway.

The html export is great news, can someone send me and example?

    Thanks.

Nice glad to hear it will be in the next update! Any way to get notified
when the new update is live?

I dont have Day 2, and couldnt track an example online. In the process
though I did stumble across this in case it is handy:

    Danilo,

I have Day One but never used it. I familiarized myself with it enough to put together example journal entries for a trip. The data can be exported json, pdf, html, and plain text. I did an html export which creates a zip file that I've attached. Hope this helps.

@jim contrary to what I thought the json format resulted less problematic to implement.

@tj Attached you can find the imported notes from your export sample, please check this is result you expected.

Hi, I'm looking to see if I can migrate my DayOne journal to Bear. The JSON import seems to work well on my handful of tests. Has anyone successfully migrated the metadata somehow (particularly location and weather data)? Thanks.

    Hi David,

Bear's Dayone importer don't take in consideration location and weather metadata.

    Cheers.
