Is it possible to add VI / VIM keybindings to the writer for macOS?

    Hi Kev,

some of us are vim fanatics and really willing to add vim bindings, but right now is not on top of our priorities.

+1 for VIM in Bear for Mac. Besides programming, Bear is my most used writing application. Thank you!

This topic looks to be from 11/18/2016. I was curious if there were any updates as to the progress of adding in vi/vim keybindings.

+1 to this. I would seriously pay extra to have vim keybindings.

Does anyone know a way we could somehow build this ourselves?

@Danilo Bonardi can you look at NeoVim? Perhaps you can use it in server mode like all these other GUIs are doing:

If it can help some of you before a native implementation, I "kind of" use VIM keybinding on Bear and everything else using Keyboard Maestro.

@Jon This sounds interesting. I don't know Keyboard Maestro, can you share your "keyboard layout" or something which allow me to replicate your configuration?

For example, when it comes to navigating VIM like, I have those simple shortcuts set.
I have a ton of automation made using Keyboard Maestro. It helps me to fill some of the features not implemented by some applications that I use.
