I have beta 4 and I cannot get a Markdown table to work. I would like Multimarkdown tables with captions and spanning columns. First release I would at least to see GitHub tables supported.

    Hi,

we plan to add tables support in the future, but right now we have to ship version 1.0 without them.

    Cheers.

I'm happy to hear that table support is in the roadmap. Agree MMD support would be nice.

+1 vote, if that helps prioritize

+1 for me, too. I like to use tables in a number of places. It would be double cool if it would work together with TableFlip (http://tableflipapp.com).

+1 as well. This is the only thing keeping me from ditching my current notes system.

For those interested in a good, current, work around: Use Marked 2 (which is a menu option in Bear) and export via that. You can write MMD table right now, and Marked will help you make them usable.

But having more extensive MMD support (tables, footnotes, etc.) would be great, so I look forward to that solution eventually.

Hows the progress on that or general complete markdown support? I'd also like to drop in the need for support of markdown reference style links.

A year and half has passed and nothing about table is implemented. That's a sad story.

@Robin Qu: I believe Bear 1.0 was released in October 2016, which was about 8 months ago.

Why so sad? Bear has been getting better with each release, the developers seem responsive, and the app is great.

It might be great in some regards bob, but it's certainly not great in terms of the ability to use tables - a feature that seems extremely basic and clearly requested by many users.

    Hello,

we are addressing tables but please consider is not an easy task and will require a lot of work before having something usable.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

    Thanks,
It’s good to have a feedback on this feature.
Bear is a great app, I switched from « ia Writer » to « Bear » but
markdown tables is a need for me.

To be honest, support of GFM is the only driven power for me (and most of heavy users of Ulysses) to transfer to any other composers.
